Blessings in Disguise

Hello Everyone!

This week was an interesting one... which I guess isn't uncommon. On P-day, we got to see a recent convert, Debbie, from Palm Harbor! It was so good to see her and her family doing well. The gospel of Jesus Christ really does bless families.

Update on my tendon: I'm starting to learn the meaning of Mosiah 4:27. We're putting it in a boot for a little while to try to get it to heal faster than it was healing in the brace. It's been a blessing in disguise as we've had to reevaluate how we are finding people to teach, and not wasting any time or steps.

Miracle of the week: We had a slower week, but we asked for referrals from everyone we talked to. We talked to a lady who was ready for a nap and wasn't too excited to talk to us, and we still asked if she knew anyone who needed a prayer or a message about Jesus Christ. She sent us over to her neighbor, whose husband passed away a couple days prior. We went over and prayed with her. We taught her about the Plan of Salvation, God's plan that allows us to live with Him again. We told her that we lived with God before we came to the Earth, and that death is not the end. Through the Savior's Atonement, we can live with our Heavenly Father and loved ones again. The Spirit was so strong and we all felt peace. She felt much more comfort.

I know that God is real, that He is our Father, and that He loves us. I know that He sends us miracles. He gives us opportunities to grow and to strengthen one another. I challenge anyone who reads this to pray and ask for yourself if He is there, and if He loves you. I know that He will answer.

I hope you're all doing well. Thanks for all the support and prayers!

Love,
Sister Brittany Hunt

Rain!

Hello Everyone!

Crazy last couple weeks. Last Monday was the mission beach party, so we traveled down to Bradenton. It was lots of fun!

We have an investigator named Orlando who is awesome. We knocked on one of his neighbor's doors, and were sent over to his house. He talked to us for a little bit and he shared how money isn't making him happy, and how he is searching for more. We prayed with him for his mom. When we met with him again later, we taught about the restored church and it all made sense to him that God would still call prophets today. He told us later that his mom immediately started feeling better after that prayer. Miracles are real.

We have had a lot of rain! It will roll in from nowhere, and often we can see the rain from a cloud a few yards in front of us while we're driving and know exactly when we'll be in it.

Have a great week!

Weekly Update

Hello everyone!

We had a good week. Lots of different kinds of learning experiences. The weather has been kinda crazy (thank you tropical storm Collin), so we're getting good at having backup plans B and C for everything! Yesterday, we were instructed to stay in our apartments for the afternoon. We made some pretty great hurricane kits.

Friday was definitely the highlight of the week. We had so many little miracles as far as teaching opportunities. One cute older woman we taught invited us in her home and began to tell us how stressed she was with her current challenges. The feeling in the apartment became almost contentious as she began to dwell on problems others are causing her. I asked her if we could show her a short video that would bring her peace. I played the #Hallelujah video from Easter, which takes different scriptures about the Savior and testimonies about finding new life through Him. As this 85-year-old lady hunched over my iPad screen and listened, her whole countenance changed. She sat down and thanked us for showing her the video, and apologized for the way she talked about others. She could recognize the Spirit in her home. Later that day, we set a baptismal date with a man and his son. We hadn't been able to set a date for a while, and so I was so excited when they said they'd be baptized that I couldn't remember what came next and I had to let Sister Minson talk to figure out which day! It is so amazing to see people make real life changes to bring themselves closer to the Savior. Whether it's changing a habit or accepting an invitation to be baptized, that is the best part about being a missionary.

Have a great week! Go serve someone!

Love,
