New companion!

Hello Everyone!

Quick letter this week because preparation day is a little shorter. Transfers were this week. My new companion is Sister Durrant, and she is awesome! It has definitely been a personal growth week. It has been a little stressful learning the area for myself and teaching another missionary about the area, but we're working on it. We're biking more and Sister Durrant is helping me learn to store contact more effectively. I'm learning that choosing to have faith and trust requires our will and our work.

Have a great week!

Miracles

Hello Everyone!

This week was one of those weeks that remind me of the bigger picture. Alberto was baptized and confirmed! The Spirit was so strong at his baptism. We were able to sing/play "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" for the intermission. What an amazing message - because He lives, we can live again, and we can become clean and new.

His mom, Lymariz, who was baptized in May, received her patriarchal blessing. She felt so much love and remembered that God really does know her. She was so grateful for those who reached out and brought her closer to the Savior, and encouraged us never to give up on sharing the message that God still leads us today.

I was reading in Mosiah 15 this morning. I was impressed that Amulek had challenges and sacrifice because of his service, but he also got to see small glimpses of how God has a perfect timetable. Miracles still happen, we just have to patiently trust the Lord.

I'm so grateful for my opportunity to serve God and my brothers and sisters. I hope you each have opportunities this week to feel His love and to share it with others.

With Love,

Sister Brittany Hunt

9/12/16 Update

Hello Everyone!

It's been a crazy last couple of weeks. We spent a few days on and off lockdown because of the storm. It didn't hit Wesley Chapel too bad, just rainy. One night they had us pack up really quick to stay the night in Tampa with some other sister missionaries so we wouldn't have to chance driving in the morning to a meeting.

Teaching has been good. Tuesday, we had at least one lesson every hour. It was so cool to see so many people have the desire to follow God and know more about Him. That was one of the common themes this week. We met with a man who has had so many trials medically, but has seen miracles and chooses to follow Chist, even when it would be easy not to. He knows there is something more mission in his life, and he's working hard to know that this gospel is it. We met with a sister in the ward who has wanted to come for a long time and has not been able to until recently. She has some pretty heavy family challenges, but she told us "I'm not giving up on this eternal family!" It has been so humbling to see so many of God's children stand so firm in their faith.

Hope you all have a great week, and thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

Love,
Sister Brittany Hunt
